The Fab Gear Guitar Lesson Program

The Fab Gear beginning guitar lesson program is a six-week course that is designed to put students on the fast track to playing guitar. Similar to the Suzuki violin teaching method, we teach all the fundamentals and major guitar chords in the first two weeks. By the third week the student is playing one of their favorite songs! The concept is to encourage the student to rehearse. If a budding student can play one of their favorite songs within the first few weeks, they’ll be more inclined to pick up their guitar and practice. And it’s all about practice. If the student rehearses exactly what their instructor teaches each week they’ll be rocking after the six-week course!!

Students at Fab Gear are assessed for their level and paired with an instructor who can address their individual needs.  Our intermediate and advanced guitar courses will take any guitarist to the next level of playing. Our staff of professional guitar instructors, have the experience as well as the real-world musical background required to help students bridge the gap from the practice room to the stage. We teach all styles. Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Classical, and beyond, you can learn it with Fab Gear. There is simply no substitute for quality, one-on-one lessons on your instrument.

Here’s the best part! For your convenience, one of our guitar instructors will come right to your home! Thats right, no more driving your child to a lesson and waiting around. It’s like the long lost old fashion doctor visit! At Fab Gear our specialized ‘house call’ guitar lesson program is hugely successful and very popular with our clients. It is just another way that Fab Gear offers the added VIP service and convenience to our clients. Openings are now available. Call us at Fab Gear for more details.

The Fab Gear Drum Lesson Program

Fab Gear offers a specialized drum lesson course for students of all levels. Private informative drum lessons guaranteed to have results are given in our drum lesson studio. Our highly trained staff of drum instructors, address the student’s individual needs with one on one instruction offering beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons. Our six-week course will have you rocking in no time. Openings are now available. Call us at Fab Gear for more details.

Great Rates

Our rates for individual instruction are among the best in the area. Half-hour private in home lessons are $25 and are sold in six-week sessions ($150 for six weeks of lessons). After the initial six-week course is paid, your contact information will be given to the appropriate instructor who will then contact you within 24 to 48 hours and arrange for scheduling.

Ensemble Instruction

We offer an ensemble program for younger students of a similar age as well as an adult ensemble program for our adult students looking for that real band experience. Our ensemble program is designed to give students the invaluable experience of being in a real, live band! Space is limited in this exciting program and currently, students may join an ensemble by invitation of his/her instructor.  Only top students will be eligible for selection into ensembles. The bands will work together honing their skills and learning the art of playing in a live situation. The ensemble program sessions are one hour weekly and are held at the Fab Gear Recording Studios (fee per one hour session is $35). Speak with your instructor for more details.

Fab Gear Rock 'N Roll Academy

2018 Fab Gear Rock ‘n Roll Academy’s

“It’s Only Rock n’ Roll” Summer Music Camp

Andy Babiuk’s Fab Gear-the boutique music shop for new and vintage musical instruments is excited to announce the dates for the 2018 Fab Gear Rock ‘n Roll Academy’s “It’s Only Rock n’ Roll” Summer Music Camp. There will be a 2-week intermediate/advanced program from July  30th – August 10, 2017 (Monday – Friday).

‘Veteran Rocker’ Intermediate/Advanced Program- July 31 - August 11, 2018

The 2-week program will focus on playing as a band and song writing. The groups will write, rehearse and perform their own songs and then record their songs in the studio! This unique summer session will give each student the opportunity to write, record and produce their own original music in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

The music programs are designed by experienced musicians and instructors to give young musicians a comprehensive education on the in’s and out’s of the music industry in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, the camp will be held in private recording and rehearsal studios in Fairport. There, students will work on rehearsing and recording, completing a CD by week’s end.

But the experience doesn’t end there, we have drawn on some of our friends in the music industry to put on specialized workshops for the students on topics like music publishing, marketing, promotion and recording. Student’s will also be taught about-and have access to-the ‘fab gear,’ ranging from instruments, amplifiers, effects, etc., that were used to make classic rock ‘n roll recordings.

Included in the week’s tuition are a CD of the student’s completed tracks, a commemorative ‘Fab Gear Rock ‘n Roll Academy’ t-shirt and knapsack and daily catered lunches from Wegmans.

But wait! The fun doesn’t end there…

After the camp, to make the summer camp a ‘real’ band experience, we’ve arranged a live gig at a rock and roll venue were the students can perform their new songs and rock out on a real live stage!!

Space is very limited. Call Fab Gear to reserve your child’s spot today
