Vintage – 1958 Fender Stratocaster
Vintage – 1958 Fender Stratocaster. This is the real deal! A very early 1958 Strat with all original finish, parts and case. This guitar comes from the original owner who has had the guitar for over 50 years!! The beautifully aged two-tone sunburst body has a real nice thin contour body cut that comes close to the end of the top horn of the guitar. The pickguard was never taken off this guitar until we got it on our bench when we found that the body is maker ‘1-58’ and the masking tape in the body cavity is marked ‘2/13/58’. All the pickups and electronics are original and none of the solder has ever been touched. The pickup wires still have the original harnessing masking tape! The very comfortable soft ‘V’ neck has it’s original frets and is marked ‘1-58’ on the heel. The tuning pegs are all original and are not at all rusted. The neck plate is stamped with the serial number ‘025360’. The backside of the neck plate is stamped ‘-26357’. The single-ply white pickguard is 100% perfect with no screw cracks. The pickup covers, short skirt knobs and switch tip are perfect and in mint shape. The back plate also has no cracks and it’s back side has a masking tape label dated ‘Feb 13/58’. The tremolo system is very clean with no rust and has the ‘Fender Pat. Pen’ stamped saddles. In the early 1960’s the owner had the input jack changed but kept the original with the guitar. The original tweed case with red interior is in good shape with a new handle installed as the leather on the old handle was falling apart. Again the original handle was kept with the guitar and case. This guitar plays and sounds great and has mojo. Check out the photos of this lovely guitar. Played by one guy in roadhouses and joints in upstate New York for the past 50 years! (we even included a photo of the original owner and the guitar) They don’t come any better than this!!! Check out the cool video clip that we put together on our YouTube page of this great guitar!!
