Vintage 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexi Bass
SOLD – Ultra Cool!!! VINTAGE – 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexi Bass features a clear acrylic polymer body. The Dan Armstrong Plexi Bass was first introduced at the Chicago NAMM Show in 1969. This bass has a very early serial number. It’s a very early model with Schaller tuners and has the early smooth Formica material pickguard and no toggle switch (which were like the first ones built!) - all original parts. The Armstrong bass has unique electronics with a single pickup that was designed in collaboration with Bill Lawrence. The slim neck on this 30.5″-scale bass is very accessible. This bass plays and sounds great and is in mint condition with original case. Just like the bass Ampeg gave Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones!!
